The Tokamak
The Tokamak is the most advanced Fusion device in the world. There are currently 25 in operation. The Tokamak uses electric current to heat Deuterium and Tritium until they are turned into plasma. Plasma is the fourth state of matter. It is a really hot gas that glows a reddish to blue color. When the fuel, Deuterium and Tritium, is heated to plasma form it begins to fuse. When this happens the fuel is turned into Helium and neutrons. The most advanced Tokamak is the ITER. ITER stands for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor.
