Nuclear Fusion vs. Fission
Nuclear Fission is what powers the nuclear reactors we have now. Fission is when one atom is split into two atoms. This releases a lot of energy. During this reaction a lot of radiation is released. This radiation is toxic and can cause cancer and other diseases. The leftover fuel is radioactive Plutonium, Uranium, Krypton, and Barium. These waste products can be radioactive for over 80 million years, and must be buried deep underground to not hurt people.
