Nuclear Fusion
Nuclear Fusion is when two light weight atoms are combined to create one heavier atom. When this happens a lot of energy is released. This is what powers the sun and the stars. To achieve this, atoms need to be in a vacuum under negative air pressure then heated to millions of degrees and pressed together. Scientists have found ways to do this with machines such as The Tokamak, The Fusor, and Laser Fusion. They use special isotopes of hydrogen called Deuterium and Tritium. Isotopes are special atoms that have the same number of protons as a certain atom but a different number of neutrons. This slightly varies the isotope's properties.
